The Information Battlefront of Language

Tweet This ! http://goo.gl/i1XEAM I've been learning about profiles for photography printing . Different profiles represent different color spaces. Each color space has a different number of colors. When I published the post of the title about rural Caribou seceding, I found that several people on FaceBook took it to mean that I was supporting secession from the USA and that is because a lot of people on FaceBook do not actually click on a post and read it and barely absorb what the short phrase in a title says. Certain words become automatic signals that, like a printing profile, have a usage meaning embedded in them. That usage is independent to the meaning implied by the the context in which the word is actually being used in the specific instance. I added the words urban Caribou to the title, hoping to avoid that impression, although it made the title longer than I wanted it to be. So I started thinking that moving from posting a blog to writing a book is like us

Confessions of A Blogger Writing In Her Pajama's - Well House Robe !

Tweet This http://goo.gl/qTYmuF Day Five of my Crowdfunder once again came up empty so now on day six it is looking unlikely that I will have garnered enough public support to take advantage of the 50% discount on the iuniverse program by 2 PM today when the sales person is going to check back with me. Perhaps when I complete the remainder of the thirty day crowdfunder I will have suceeded in garnering enough public support to justify investing in such a program. That bar is $500.00 because until I reach $500.00 I do not get to retain any of the funds pledged. If I reach that bar, perhaps there will be another deal available- or I can do another crowdfunder to try to raise the rest of the funds needed,- so with that thought in mind, I am going to continue with this crowdfunder to its completion. It feels like doing one of those dance marathons of the depression era-or a fillibuster speach on the floor of the Senate. This is a particular sort of endurance test which I have deci

"Improved" Seed Capital Tax Credit Ramps Up Benefits For Maine's "Targeted Sector"

Tweet This !! http://goo.gl/BLmk7E Sales Tax Increase for Main Street but An Exemption for The Targeted Sector As Previously reported , the entire retail sector is excluded from the services and redistributive benefits of The Maine Department of Economic and Community Development so why is Mr Douglas Ray, the legislative liaison for the DECD issuing a press release about a sales tax exemption for one of Maine's special interest industries- the aviation industry ? Looks like it isn't the entire retail industry after all- merely Main Street that is excluded. The extension of a sales-tax-free-ride for a favored special interest in the legislature's "targeted sector", comes after recently announcing a new tax hike on the general Maine economy. Championing the sales tax relief for the Aviation Industry is Governor Paul LePage who says "This exemption is absolutely critical to sustaining and building upon the success the industry has already exper

Angus King's Almost Legal Insider's Investment Club. - Part One

Tweet This !! http://goo.gl/W9lWV5 More on The Small Enterprise Growth Fund (since 2014 known as The Maine Venture Fund), signed into law by Angus King to become the most secretive Maine state corporation ever . I have been writing about the SEGF since 2009, when I  participated in competition at the  Juice Conference for what seemed to be a micro-economy investment, promoted as contributed by an "anonymous donor", later revealed to be the SEGF. At that conference and on the SEGF's website the taxpayer's role in subsidizing this investment company is promoted with the explanation that for every dollar that the Maine taxpayers "invest", high growth investors contribute nine dollars. When I first heard this statement and until a few days ago, I took it to be a case of incorrect language as the model that I had constructed in my mind was one in which investments are made on an individual basis in individual companies and so it seemed to me that i

Secular Saints of the Corporate State

From  the charter for the Finance Authority of Maine  The above statement is found in the charter for the Finance Authority of Maine. It is a most astounding statement because it constitutes a legislative decree about the character of certain individuals and associations which practically ordains them into sainthood. By legislative decree, individuals and associations which privately benefit through the activities of the Finance Authority of Maine are motivated by only the purest of motives to serve the "public benefit" - whatever that may be, and whenever the powers that be, want it to be it.  Any private benefits that confer upon themselves, as a public-private relationship, is a pure chance of circumstance. Which type of government defines human character by legislative decree? Not that created by the founders of the United States Constitution. The Federalist Papers recorded the thought process which became the United States Constitution. Publius first examin
