It Takes Hatching Many Butterflies to Diversify an Economy- Part Two!

Broken Platter. The Owl and the Pussy Cat by Brenda Andersen circa 1960's Part One A Call to Action! I first began  blogging about political matters  because I observed that there was a missing diversity of reporting and opinion in the Maine media. My purpose in writing my own blog is to create an alternative voice. I have likewise found this to be true in terms of access to economic development support in the Boothbay Region despite the existence of organizations which call themselves economic development councils and resources. The economic development council is as unapproachable as the Boothbay Planning Board, which despite language found in T itle Thirty of the Maine Statutes  stating that the public "shall" have a hearing in regards to town planning, inclusive of comments submitted in writing, the Boothbay Planning Board  does not provide contact information on the town website , also true for the Joint Economic Development Planning Council. When I appro

Networking Essential For A Successful Crowdfunder And Developing Such A Network Is It's Purpose

TWEET THIS  http://goo.gl/qsSdsq As you can see I am doing a crowdfunder in an attempt to raise the resources to take advantage of a 50% discount on iuniversal's program for self publishers . It is no surprise that I raised no funds on the first day because I am what you call an outlier blogger, which means in essence that I am not connected to a network of people working or supporting what I do. My mission in bringing the information and point of view that I present in my blog is to affect change in the entrenched political paradigm in Maine, and the USA,including the media. Crowdfunding depends on networking and I lack a network, which is why I want to be part of the Iuniversal program, a program which connects self published authors to community of professionals in the self publishing industry. It will help to build a network. I do not get paid for writing my blog and so it is not easy to find the time and focus to put the information I have gathered and the ideas that I

A Lttle Help From My Freinds !

Tweet This  http://goo.gl/csPTn3 Greetings to my freinds and supporters: I have written over three hundred blog posts mostly on the subject of researching Maine economic development statutes. In the process I have developed an in depth understanding of the history and interconnectedness of Maine's economic development policies. For some timeI have been thinking of writing a book on the subjects that I have explored in this blog . I would like to time the publication of such a book to have its most impact in the months leading up to the next election. I have been offered a 50% discount on a self publishing program if I take it by Monday June 29, 2015. The self publishing program will connect me with an online community for self publishing and help me with every phase from organizing my material into a book form to marketing. I found a crowdfunding site for journalism, It takes a day for project approval.  My Crowdfunder is now launced on Beacon- Here I The Live Li

A Credit Due to The Bangor Daily News

Tweet This http://goo.gl/Q0nnG6 In fairness to the Maine media which I have been recently been calling out for their suppression of free speech. I have to give credit to the Bangor Daily News which is currently allowing and interesting debate to continue on. The article is  Investments a better way to economic development than tax cuts   By Victoria Mayer, Special to the BDN Posted  March 15, 2015,  at  10:43 a.m. When I entered the discussion, I anticipated that my post would be blocked and therefore I made no effort to hold myself back when I posted this: She is on the right track in returning economic development to the local level as we see in the two city states of Maine thriving on the large haul they receive in taxpayer revenue coming from Maine and United States taxpayers and all of it invested within their own municipal boundaries- but these are state courts with streets flowing with revenue coming directly out of taxpayer pockets and so they will n

Update Letter To Maine Government Oversight Committee

Update on letter to Government Oversight Committee: To date none will address the issues I raised -  not even from my own Senator Chris Johnson. This does not surprise me when our state is run by a hegemony of power. Its been ions since the Maine state legislature granted onto themselves the authority to centrally manage the economy and have been decreeing for years that the transference of taxpayer money to private interests is for the public good. How could anyone think otherwise? The legislature is incapable of dealing with views outside of their own hegemony and they have stopped governing by the consent of the governed decades ago. I know there are many among the governed who do not agree that the redistribution of wealth currently implemented by our legislature serves the "public benefit"- but we are not among the "targeted sector" served by our legislature. I know there are many that do not like the direction that the University of Maine is g

Maine Needs Independents VS The Maine State Inc Politcal Oligarchy !

The viability and constitutionality of Maine's centrally managed economy, which I have called Maine State Inc- is perpetually kept out of the political dialogue by politicians and the Maine media alike, but these programs serve the interests of the few at the expense of the many. All of the candidates in the gubernatorial race are co-conspirators in "targeted sector economics". The last accountability on Maine's "economic development" programs was in 2006 which concluded that there was no evidence that these programs create jobs and that they do invite corruption. See Pine Tree Watch Dog article http://pinetreewatchdog.org/tax-break-deals-studied-and-studied-but-questions-remain-unresolved . If Independent candidates emerge taking on the issue of Maine State Inc, all of their opposition will be part of the singular force of the political oligarchy, which has intentionally excluded discussion and awareness of these programs from public dia

Is the State Of Maine Attempting A Tax Swap with Maine's Home Rule?

In this  article from the Portland Press Herald , we find this sentence: Brennan ( Mayor of Portland)  would also like to see a bill passed to allow regional tax increment financing, an incentive for economic development that returns property dollars to developers or regions without affecting state subsidies for education and the like. I am guessing that what they mean is "Brennan would also like to see a bill passed to allow regional tax increment financing, an incentive for economic development that returns property taxes to developers or regions without affecting state subsidies for education and the like." In which case it looks like a direct attempt to  use linguistic cloaking to cover up what they are actually aiming to do. Regional tax increment is a term that means using future projected property tax revenues to finance development. However it is often overlooked that with increased property tax revenue ,the need for municipal services als

Maine Biz Uses Claims Made by Government Chartered Non-Profit Corporation To Support Legislature's Side in Bond Debate

Maine Biz has an article on the Governor's Veto and uses the Maine Development Foundation as one of their sources on behalf of the legislature. This is my online comment to that article. MTI- Maine Technological Institute is BOTH government and non-profit. It is a non-profit corporation chartered by special act of legislation in violation of the Maine State Constitution, which our legislature routinely ignores as it continues to entrench a network of special corporations chartered by special acts of legislation. Article IV, Part Third Section 14 of the Maine State Constitution prohibits the legislature from chartering corporations by special act of legislation with an exception for municipal purposes and - an almost never applicable exception - for something that can't be done any other way. Article IV Part Third Section 14 of the Maine State constitution then goes on to say that all corporations, however formed , are subject to general law. However corporate records a
